 Mutton Kosha is a very famous Bengali dish.
Mutton Kosha is a very famous Bengali dish that has a spicy flavor to the juicy mutton. It is cooked on low heat. If you like to eat non-veg, then you will definitely like this Mutton  Kosha in  Bengali Style.

Mutton Kosha Ingredients:

    750 grams Mutton
    3 medium onions
    1 1/2 teaspoon mutton masala
    3 bay leaves
    5 cloves
    1 teaspoon sugar
    3 medium half-cut potatoes
    1 teaspoon garam masala powder
    12 whole black pepper
    4 small cardamom
    1/2 inch cinnamon stick
    3/4 cup mustard oil

    For marination:
    8 garlic cloves
    2 teaspoons turmeric
    1 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
    4 tablespoons curd
    1 1/2 inch ginger
    1 1/2 teaspoon red pepper powder
    1 1/2 teaspoons salt

How to Make Mutton Kosha Recipe :

Step 1
To marinate mutton, grind garlic, ginger and onion together and make a smooth paste.

 Step 2
After this, clean the mutton and wash it well. Then add a paste of yogurt, turmeric, coriander powder, red pepper, a little mustard oil and half an onion etc. to marinate and leave it for 2 hours. Also, do not forget to pierce the mutton with a fork so that the flavor of all the spices can come in it.

 Step 3
Now heat mustard oil in a pan and fry the potatoes till they turn golden and keep them aside.

Step 4
After this, heat the remaining oil to a pan. Add turmeric, black pepper, cinnamon, bay leaf, cloves and cardamom to it. Add sugar along with it, due to which the color of gravy is very red and sharpness is reduced.

After this, add the remaining onion and mutton masala and cook for another 5 minutes. Now you will see oil separating from the spices, at the same time add marinated mutton to it and let the mutton cook for about half an hour on low heat.

Step 6
After this, according to which you want to keep the gravy, add water to the mutton and keep the pan covered for at least an hour on low heat so that the mutton cooks well.

After this, add fried potatoes and garam masala, stir the mutton well and when it cools down, sprinkle fresh chopped coriander leaves over it.

You can serve it with hot rice, poori or parantha. But after this, do not forget to eat Bengali sweet mishthi dohi or soft rosogula.
